2-Alarm Apartment Fire in The Northside / Northline Area WHAT: 2-Alarm Apartment Fire WHEN: April 14, 2021 at 11:34 a.m. WHERE: 7313 Northline, 77076 INJURIES: No reported injuries. PROPERTY SAVED: $1.35 million in estimated property saved. DAMAGE: $1.15 million in estimated damage. CAUSE: Failure of Equipment or Heat Source. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find heavy fire coming from the first and second floor of an apartment building. They made an offensive attack and found the fire had already extended into the attic. Crews cut the fire off in the attic and evacuated the building. A second alarm and defensive attack was initiated. Once the fire was under control, firefighters completed extinguishment in an offensive mode. The building contained 12 occupied units. The leasing manager found several units in the complex to assist some of the residents and the American Red Cross was also requested. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire and determined that an electrical plug in a first floor apartment unit was the origin. Crews from Stations 31, 34, 64, 13, 30, 58, 67, 74, 6, 8, 15, Heavy Rescue 11 and Rehab responded to this incident.
