Building Fire in The Greater Uptown Area WHAT: Building Fire WHEN: April 23, 2021 at 11:23 p.m. WHERE: 1700 Post Oak, 77056 INJURIES: No reported injuries. PROPERTY SAVED: Not available. DAMAGE: $30 thousand in estimated damage. CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from a restaurant on the first floor of a multi-use occupancy building. Crews found a small fire in a wall, and after opening it up, extinguished it. They checked for extension with none found. Crews shut the gas was shut off to the restaurant and a food inspector was requested. Firefighters from Stations 6, 28, 2, 11, 16, 37, 38, 51 and 57responded to this incident.
