UPDATED: City to Host Groundbreaking on Hillcroft Improvements and Provide Update on Street Rehabilitation Initiative WHAT: Mayor Turner will join Together for Safer Roads, Council Member Edward Pollard, Houston Public Works, the Houston Planning Department, the Southwest Redevelopment Authority/TIRZ 20 and other partners at a groundbreaking to turn Hillcroft Avenue into a safer and more equitable road.
The mayor will also provide an update on the Street Rehabilitation Initiative, which the city launched last September. WHEN: 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 WHERE: 6400 High Star at Rookin *in the event of heavy rain, the even will be held inside the Southwest Multi-Service Center *this is the address to a COH multi-service center and the event will take place nearby ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The improvements are in Gulfton, which is part of the Mayor’s Complete Communities Initiative. This was the first project in Houston to use video-based near-miss analysis for scoping, planning and assessment.
