Investigation into Fatal Crash at 18400 Westheimer Parkway
Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 18400 Westheimer Parkway about 12:20 a.m. today (April 16).
The identity of the male victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer J. Best reported:
The victim was operating a black Yamaha motorcycle, along with another motorcyclist, westbound at the above address. A witness stated a white truck was stopped in a moving lane of traffic when the victim attempted to pass the truck on the right side. At that time, the victim’s motorcycle struck a guardrail, ejecting the victim from the motorcycle. The witness said the driver of the truck then left the scene. Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Investigators would like to speak with the driver of the truck. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division at 713-247-4072.
